Net NPA

Net NPA Definition: Net NPA denotes the actual burden of bad loans on a bank. It is calculated by subtracting the provisions (funds set aside by the bank to cover the risk) from the Gross NPA.

Why it matters in Debt Collection

  • Net NPA = Gross NPA - (Provisions + Interest in Suspense).
  • Reflects the actual unmitigated risk lying inherently in the loan portfolio.
  • A lower Net NPA indicates the lender has successfully provisioned for their bad debts.
